Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
Ok, so i don't consider myself a video game geek. The last system I bought was the good ol N64 but then university started and that was about it.
But that hasn't stopped me from getting excited about the new Nintendo Wii! On one hand, you never want to get too excited because nothing ever lives up the hype and yet it's hard to help it, especially when you read articles like this, that virtually says it does indeed live up to the hype. For those of you who haven't heard much about it, the whole point of the wii is to change gaming. The control senses where it is and hence you use the movement of the controller to play the game.
So instead of hitting A to hit the tennis ball, you actually swing your arm like a tennis racket. Or you can yield the wii-mote like a sword and sword fight, or swing it in boxing, or hold it like a steering wheel and turn when racing. The possibilites are endless.
I gotta admit when I watch the demo's, the thrill of 'actually' throwing the winning touchdown will far surpass the old button mashing of the past. Leave it to good ol Nintendo to re-shape video gaming.
And of course it helps that the wii will cost less than half the PS3. So all this has me excited! I'm hoping i can get one preordered and by the time i get home on the 6th, there will be one waiting for me :-)
